For close to 50 years CTV NATIONAL NEWS has been Canada's most-watched national news program, covering the stories that matter to Canadians. Lloyd Robertson anchors Monday to Friday and Sandie Rinaldo anchors on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 p.m. on CTV News Channel and at 11 p.m. on CTV.

CTV National News is committed to bringing Canadians the news from home and around the world. Domestic news bureaus across Canada and international bureaus in Washington, Los Angeles, London, Beijing and the Middle East in addition to a partnership with ABC enables CTV News to break more stories than any other Canadian broadcaster.

Launched in 1961 as CTV World News, CTV's first national news program ran 20 minutes in length and was produced from Ottawa. The original anchor team was comprised of Charles Lynch, Peter Strusberg and Peter Jennings. Jennings departed for ABC News in 1964 and Harvey Kirck, who had been Jennings' co-anchor, became the program's sole anchor. Lloyd Robertson joined the CTV World News team in 1976 and the broadcast was re-named CTV NATIONAL NEWS. Kirck retired in 1984, leaving Robertson at the helm of CTV's flagship newscast.
